This year, the Canadian Restaurant Investment and Leadership Summit took place online, featuring four webinars from November 2 – 5. Industry experts joined the webinars to share their insights on the restaurant and foodservice landscape. To conclude the 2020 Summit, the final panel focused on Technology in Foodservice.
Brian Deck (CEO of Smooth Commerce), Manoj Jasra (Chief Marketing & Digital Officer of Northland Properties), Royal Nasager (VP Marketing at St. Louis Franchise Ltd) and Dan Nielsen (President of Attitude Marketing & AT2 Media) were featured as speakers on the panel that was moderated by Robert Carter (Managing Partner of The StratonHunter Group).
The panel discussed a variety of topics, including:
- The current shift to digital that accelerated due to COVID-19
- Acting on changes in customer behaviour and embracing these opportunities in your business
- The value of white-label ordering platforms for restaurants
- Managing your brand and providing a seamless customer experience
- Effectively marketing and promoting your offerings to customers
- Innovative menu design and concepts
“The restaurant industry as a whole has demonstrated just how innovative, resilient and creative it is,” said Brian Deck in commenting on their response to COVID-19. “[We’ve learned since COVID-19] how much the consumer would accept and engage in … ordering through digital in channels that we didn’t think that they would.”
Smooth Commerce is proud to have sponsored this panel. We’re looking forward to next year and we thank CWB Franchise Finance for hosting their 10th event.
